Description
The Fred G. Redmon Bridge, also known as the Selah Creek Bridge, is a monumental concrete arch bridge carrying Interstate 82 across Selah Creek near Selah in Yakima County, Washington. The bridge was an integral part of a 2.8-mile freeway segment of I-82 construction that opened to traffic on November 2, 1971. Commissioned and constructed by renowned engineering firm Peter Kiewit & Sons, the bridge is the longest of its kind in America and is renowned for its height in comparison to other bridges in Washington State. It won Grand Award recognition from the Washington Aggregates and Concrete Association “for excellence in the use of concrete” in 1971. Each print of the Fred G. Redmon Memorial Bridge is made with 300gsm, resin-coated inkjet photo paper – a pro photographer’s favorite due to its heftiness and robust nature that surpasses in durability mass-market photo papers.
